Jacqueline Peters, MACP
Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)
Before I sat in the therapist chair, I was the client on the couch. I became a therapist because I believe in the process of therapy and that, with the right support, positive change is possible for anyone. I have a deep respect for my clients and the courage it takes to entrust me with the stories of their past and their hope.
My approach to therapy is rooted in the values of authenticity, collaboration, and compassion. Clients are supported within a trauma-informed framework, allowing me to understand you through curiosity rather than judgement. Therapy success is rooted within the relationship that we create; as such we work as a team to set and adjust your therapy goals, collaborate on determining the therapeutic styles used and the pacing of the sessions and therapy work. Checking-in with you for feedback about our process throughout the therapy is always a priority.
When I’m not in my therapist role, I spend my time trying to practice what I preach through creating as much joy as a I can for my life. A great weekend includes a balance of quality time with family and friends, and intentional rest – baking, yoga, reading, and of course the occasional Netflix binge. My favourite self-regulation tool is music; I love almost all genres and decades of music. I’m big on humour and authenticity is my most important value.
